Who are we?

We are Charles & Edith Gueye and Kerstin Perren. We send you warm greetings from sunny Senegal.

Senegal, a country in West Africa, is well known for its hospitality. Although 94 percent of the population is Muslim, the culture is strongly influenced by animist traditions. Unfortunately, there are many children and young people living on the streets. This situation has touched our hearts and we feel called to offer hope and support to these young people.

Last year, God gave us the opportunity to buy a 1.8 hectare plot of land. We realize that many of these street children come from farming families. Senegal offers great potential for large-scale farming.

Our vision is to provide the young people with practical knowledge that they can take home with them. This knowledge should be linked to their faith in God, in the conviction that he will bless their work and grant them success. We are firmly convinced that God wants to give them back the dignity they lost on the streets and enable them to live a life in abundance.

The vision includes building traditional houses that allow missionaries, locals and people from other countries to spiritually retreat and recover.

We also carry out health campaigns in which we travel to villages several times a year to treat people and, where possible, provide them with free medication. After the treatment, we pray for those affected. In the evening, we show a Christian movie and encourage people to entrust their lives to Jesus. For this evangelization, we would like to involve the young people who have been living on the streets.

It is the same with faith: if it remains alone and is not put into practice, it is dead. James 2:17

"Edith and Charles Gueye are from Senegal. They have given up their well-paid jobs to follow the call of God.Together they have a seven-year-old daughter who needs special care. Edith and Charles are a great testimony to me that God is our provider. They live from hand to mouth, yet every month they are amazed anew at how God provides.Their great faith is contagious and I learn a lot from them.

They are people who not only talk, but above all act. They are encouraging and are not afraid to speak the truth. I am grateful to God to have met them and to be working with them for God's kingdom." Kerstin

"Kerstin is a young woman with a heart full of unconditional love for her neighbors; she has a big heart for Africa and is involved in every possible way in the work of the Lord Jesus for street children and the most vulnerable.

We are touched and grateful to God to have such a coworker at work who has become a full member of our family, a true woman of God.

The love Kerstin has for people is contagious and her commitment to ministry, despite climatic, religious and cultural limitations, is remarkable and uplifting."Charles and Edith
